Firedancer hit the stage at Solana Breakpoint 2023, and it’s live on testnet. Built by Jump Crypto, this validator client is a ground-up rewrite, designed to crank Solana’s performance to the max—think 1 million TPS as the target. It’s already clocking 600,000 TPS on a single thread.

What’s Firedancer?

It’s a full reimplementation of Solana’s validator codebase—not a fork, a fresh start.

Purpose: Strip out inefficiencies, optimize every layer.
Team: Jump Trading’s crew, led by Kevin Bowers (KFB), HFT and scaling wizards.
